Paper Disposable Products Buyer's Guide

Use this guide to choose paper cups, straws and cutlery that fit the drink, food and service method. It explains the practical differences between product types, what to check in a sample and how to compare custom options and wholesale quotes.

01 / Product Type

Which Paper Disposable Product Do You Need?

PappbecherChoose according to the drink, normal serving amount, cup wall, outside dimensions and required lid.
PapierstrohhalmeChoose the diameter according to the drink and the length according to the cup and lid.
PapiersteckbesteckChoose forks, spoons, knives or a set according to the meal, portion and way customers will eat it.

Not sure where to start? Send a photo or basic details of the product you currently use, together with the drink or food and estimated quantity. This helps us identify the closest available option.

02 / Paper Cup Construction

What Is the Difference Between Single-Wall, Double-Wall and Ripple-Wall Paper Cups?

The difference is the way the cup wall is built. This changes the outside feel, grip, appearance, packing space and price.

Single-Wall CupUses one main cup wall. It has a simple structure and takes less packing space. Depending on the drink and serving conditions, the buyer may also need to consider a separate sleeve.
Double-Wall CupAdds an outer paper layer around the inner cup wall. This creates separation between the drink and the outside surface. Compare the complete cup dimensions and test how it feels when filled.
Ripple-Wall CupUses a shaped outer layer with raised lines. The textured surface changes the grip and appearance. Check the ripple pattern, outside size and available area for printed artwork.

Do not choose by wall type alone. The drink, serving amount, lid fit and actual filled-cup test are still important.

03 / Cup Size and Lids

How Do You Compare Paper Cup Capacity, Dimensions and Lids?

The stated capacity in ounces or millilitres is only the first reference. Cups with a similar capacity may have different heights, rim diameters and normal serving levels.

Stated capacityUse ounces or millilitres to identify the general size, then check the cup drawing or dimensions.
Normal serving amountFill a sample with the amount normally sold. Leave enough space at the top for carrying and for fitting the lid.
Top diameterThe top diameter is important for lid matching. Do not assume that lids fit simply because two cups have the same stated capacity.
Bottom diameter and heightCheck whether the cup fits your holder, dispenser, tray, shelf and outer packaging.
Matching lidConfirm the exact lid for the selected cup, whether it is included in the price and how cups and lids are packed.

Simple lid test: Fill the cup to the normal serving level, fit the lid and hold it as a customer would. Check the rim connection, drinking opening and whether the lid stays in place during normal handling.

04 / Straw Diameter and Length

How Do You Choose the Right Paper Straw Size?

Choose the diameter according to the drink and choose the length according to the cup. A straw that is too narrow can make a thick drink difficult to consume, while a straw that is too short can be awkward to use.

6 mm diameterA common reference size for thinner drinks such as water, juice and soft drinks.
8 mm diameterA wider option to consider for thicker drinks or drinks containing small pieces.
12 mm diameterA wide option for drinks containing larger pieces. Confirm the size of the pieces as well as the opening in the cup lid.
Straw lengthMatch the length to the cup height and lid. The straw should extend far enough above the cup for comfortable use.
PackingConfirm whether individual wrapping or another packing method is required for your sales channel.

The sizes above are useful reference points from our product range. Current lengths, colors and packing options should be confirmed for the selected straw.

05 / Paper Cutlery

How Should You Choose Paper Forks, Spoons and Knives?

Choose paper cutlery for the actual meal rather than selecting a general set first. The food texture, portion and eating method determine which utensils are needed.

Paper spoonConsider the spoon bowl, edge and handle when it will be used for soup, rice, desserts or other spoon-served foods.
Paper forkCheck the shape of the points, the grip and the handle when it will be used for salad, noodles or food pieces.
Paper knifeCheck the cutting edge and handle when the meal includes soft foods, cakes or foods that need to be divided into smaller pieces.
Cutlery setConfirm exactly which utensils are included and whether a napkin or individual wrapper is required.

Use the real food for testing. An empty-hand check cannot show whether a fork picks up the food, a spoon holds the portion or a knife cuts the planned meal.

06 / Printing and Packing

What Should Be Confirmed for Custom Printing and Packing?

Select the exact product before preparing artwork or custom packing. The product shape, printable area and packing method determine what can be produced.

Exact ProductConfirm the paper cup, straw or cutlery type and size before starting the design.
Artwork and Print AreaConfirm the logo, text, colors and available print position. Curved surfaces, cup seams and product edges can affect how the finished design appears.
Number of DesignsList each size, color, language or brand design separately so the required quantities can be reviewed correctly.
Product PackingConfirm whether the products should be packed in bulk, wrapped separately or combined as a set with other items.

Important: Custom options vary by product. Printing and packing requirements should be reviewed for the selected cup, straw or cutlery item before the artwork is finalized.

07 / Product Matching

How Do You Match Cups, Lids, Straws and Cutlery in One Order?

Treat cups, lids, straws and cutlery as a complete serving setup. Each item should fit the product it is used with, and the quantities should reflect how customers will use them.

Cup and LidMatch the lid to the exact cup model, top diameter and rim shape. The same stated cup capacity does not guarantee the same lid fit.
Cup and StrawChoose the straw length according to the cup height. Confirm that the straw diameter also fits the drink and the opening in the lid.
Cup and SleeveWhen a sleeve is required, check that its dimensions fit the outside shape of the selected cup and that it remains comfortable to hold.
Cutlery and MealSelect forks, spoons, knives or a combination according to the actual food. Check the utensil length, shape and ease of use with a real portion.
Set ContentsConfirm exactly which items are included in each set, such as a fork, spoon, knife, straw or napkin, and whether they are wrapped together.
Order QuantitiesCups, lids, straws and cutlery may have different packing quantities. Calculate how many complete serving sets are needed before confirming the order.

Important: Test the complete combination with the actual drink or meal. Fill the cup, attach the lid, insert the straw and use the selected cutlery to confirm that all items work together.
